Painted Snowman Cake

OCCASION: Thanksgiving dinner

INSPIRATION: Freezing cold temperatures in Chicago in November –
AKA a snowman!

DESIGN IDEA: A painted cake, that would bring my snowman to life.

A snowman cake is on my menu for our Thanksgiving Day family dinner. That is mostly due to the FREEZING temperatures we have endured already in the month of November. Next, it sounded like a very cute idea for a cake design!

The cake consists of 3 – 8″ layers of my Mom’s chocolate no-egg cake. It is filled with 2 layers of chocolate mousse, and Nestle Crunch bits. These layers combine for the perfect blend of smooth, creamy, and crunchy!

It is a semi-naked cake, frosted smoothly with cream cheese buttercream. I painted the snowman design onto the top of the cake, using additional buttercream, and some craft brushes. A sprinkling of “snow”, stars, and edible glitter add the perfect effects. A bit of “crunch” along the bottom of the cake completes this adorable Snowman Painted Cake.
