Like most of my favorite martini cocktails, I first tried this one at a restaurant bar. It was on the “specials” list, and sounded so unique – I just had to try it! After all, I do like Fig Newton cookies – could it have the same taste? I also like a fig tart – but who can describe the taste of either of these? They are fruity, and slightly sweet – in a rustic kind of way. That’s the best way I can describe them. I just know I like them!
Well… the martini is delicious as well. The Triple Sec adds a lovely citrus note. The recipe is simple, refreshing, and I dare you to describe what you taste when you try it!
Fig Martini Recipe
Ingredients:
1 part Figenza Mediterranean Fig Vodka (I found this at my local Binny’s)
1 part Triple Sec
1 part Sprite
Add the first 2 ingredients into a cocktail shaker 1/2 full of ice. Shake for 30 seconds. Add the Sprite, and pour into your martini glass. (I don’t recommend adding the Sprite until AFTER shaking, as the carbonation may blow the top off your shaker!)
