This recipe uses my original Asiago Cheese Bagel recipe as the base for an Everything Bagel. I love the garlic and onion flavors, and the overall savory appeal of this bagel. The only adjustment needed is to watch them closely in the oven. The “everything” topping tended to brown quickly, so I decreased the oven temp to 375 degrees, and the total baking time to about 25 minutes for these bagels.
Recipe for the EVERYTHING seasoning: (makes enough for 15 bagels)
Ingredients:
* 1 1/2 tsp dried, minced onion
* 1 Tbsp poppy seeds
* 1 Tbsp kosher salt
* 1 Tbsp dried, minced garlic
* 2 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
* 1 Tsp crushed black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, and set aside.
Make the bagels. Once they are boiled, remove to a parchment lined sheet pan, and sprinkle generously with the Everything spice mix.
Bake at 375 degrees for about 25 min. Watch closely as they will brown quickly. You only want a light golden color to them. Cool before slicing.
